Default TH400 Fbody guys Come in!!!

Ok guys, I'd like to see some pictures of your center console. I'm converting from M6 to TH400 and need some ideas on what to do. I want to see how you mounted your shifter. Maybe even how you modified the console for eveything to fit. The more detailed the better but whatever pics, explanation you have will be good.

Thanks for the help folks!

Just throwin this out here as an option for ya but when i worked at the transmission shop we did alot of business with a company called shiftworks. They specialize in shifters/linkage/setups for vehicles that are getting a transmission that didnt originally come with that vehicle. When i dealt woth them we only needed them for classic cars but try and callem and see if they have any ideas or experience in a swap like that they might already have a kit setup since its become quite common in later years for our 4th gens... I know its not pics or info but it might help

I used some thin aluminum to make a plate to cover the hole. I used some foam weather stripping with the stick on backing to help seal it up. I then used some long bolts facing up so the shifter would fit over them. To prop up the back of the shifter I threaded some nuts about 1/2 way down the back bolts to hold it up. I then bolted it down.

Here is one of the back mounting tabs. You can kinda see how its elevated a little. The rusty piece is the plate. Forgot to coat it. Doh!!!

I have some pictures. I will have to wait to post from a computer though. I switched to an automatic console. Uses the cheetah scs shifter. I made a template for the 6 speed hole based on the old shifter boot. I had to move the air bag brain to under the dash. Just had to cut and splice one wire to do it. Will post pics in a bit.

Just a few pictures I have of my swap. Underneath the Air bag sensor bracket is where the shifter cable comes through. I had to get the shifter where I wanted it before everything else. Once I did that, it was pretty easy getting everything to work.

I am happy so far. I was tired of spending tons of many on good parts and still not being consistent at the track.
