Which shift kit? (full manual valve body)
Hi, might be some stupid questions here but I want to convert my trans to have a full manual valve body. Transgo offers two kits, the HD2 and the 4L60e 3 (links below). One states that the trans will be stick shift, with full manual control. The other says "Holds 1st, 2nd, 3rd to any speed.
Backshifts to 3rd, 2nd & 1st by moving the lever.." which also sounds like full manual control to me. I'm looking for the one I have to shift all the time.

Also, does anyone recommend any other kits over these?
What else do I need and what should the total cost come out to?
Thanks.

I would suggest a new separator plate - Transgo sells a universal one that you then drill according to their instructions and your engine type. The shift kit likely has more drilling instructions. Separator plates get worn from the steel check ***** hitting them. Sonnax makes Torlon check ***** that eliminate such wear.
