if its the later 01+ should bolt right up to the 4l60e. IIRC the earlier LQ4 with the cast iron heads has the nub on the rear main seal. i didnt run into any issues hooking up my 01 LQ4 to the 4l60e. someone correct me if im wrong though cause sometimes i am haha

It depends on if the LQ4 had a 4l60e behind it from the factory. If it had the 4l80e behind it, you'll have a few issues to address. I just did a swap like this in my car. I had an 02 LQ4 that had a 4l80e behind it. My LQ4 had the spacer on the crank. I took it off. To make it work with a 4l60e you have to have either a stock 5.7 LS1 or a 5.3 flexplate. I had a Vigilante 3200 stall that I used. I had to make some 1/8" washers to go in between the converter and the flexplate. I've heard of some doing this and it bolting up perfect. My setup works great.
