Default th400 and tci flexplate guys...

Im putting a 400 behine an 04/05 lq4 and i spoke with tci and the told me that flexplate 399753 will bolt it right up.can anyone confirm this? Im trying to figute if i need to get the crank spacer and bolts as i dont have the trans yet trying to get everything i need.any help. Thanks

The TCI 399753 has the LS and small GM bolt pattern. And most performance converters will have both the large and small GM bolt pattern. The TCI should come with a pilot extension as well, so if your converter has the shorter style pilot it will extend it to fit the LS crank. If you get a converter with the longer pilot just do not use the extender. Hopefully all that made sense...

Yes that makes sense.so i dont need to worry about the crank spacer then? Just when i get convertor determine to use or not use pilot spacer correct? Thanks for thr help

Correct, and I like the term pilot extension over pilot spacer. I think it describes it a little better.

ok so i have trans bolted to motor but with convertor locked in trans i have about 2 washer thickness between flexplate and convertor.is that still to much space or can i just put a washer or 2 between the two of them before bolting it all up?

I've always heard 1/8 inch to 3/16. You can use a 1/8 drill bit to get a idea
