MERCON V in a 4L60E?
Has anyone used MERCON V in their trannys instead of DEXRON III? I am installing my Yank SS3600 soon and after draining the trans I have a case of Merc V that I want to use. I looked up information about merc v and its supposed to be a replacement to DEX III, it meets and exceeds all the propertied of DEX III. Anyone done this / think this is a bad idea? Car is stock motor stock tranny 1995 LT1.

I know my manual says to use Dex VI not Dex III but people use that. I lost some fluid when I added my trans cooler before the stall and I replaced that with a big splash of Dex Merc. When I got the converter put in idk what the shop used.

Yeah DEX 6 is for the newer LS1 cars, and it was supposed to be able to replace DEX 3 with no issues, and I read that MERCON V can be used in a DEX 6 sooooo that tells me MERCON V can go in my DEX III tranny...
