6L80e with new yank Torque converter in truck
I recently installed a yank 3200 SC multi disc converter in my tahoe that has 80,000mi on it. I tuned the TCC, pressures and shift times, but it seems that my transmission is acting funny in between shifts.
2-3 it will rev up to 2500 then as it shifts into 3rd it will jump up to 3000 then drop to 2500 and drop again to 2000.
in 5-6 it will rev up to 2500 then as it shifts into 6th it will jump up to 4500 then back down to 2500 then to 2000.
Anyone have this issue before?
Or am i cursed with a dyin tranny?
Oil changes every 17,000mi and i installed a larger tranny cooler when i only had 20,000mi on the odometer...

6L80 and how to tune them seems to be problem people run into most often.
You might want to put stock tune back, and see how that effects your current problems. Spoke with engineer on Power Tour about 6L80 tuning. Playing with Line pressure and Shift timing can cause more problems than one might expect. Every change you make related to your engine can effect trans responce. There is a critical timing issue that shifts have to occure in. Get that out of range (too early or too late) and you will be rebuilding it.

Thank you for your replies, HP tuners and EFILive crews have yet to respond
I increased the shifting pressures slightly more in my trouble gears, and made all the shift times @ 0.300. Not going crazy, just want it to shift properly. So far my 5-6 shifts much better, just need a little more on 2-3...Slow and steady is better than drastic changes
Have a funny pull release feeling around 40mph and when the TC turns on in 6th around 60mph...
Again basically stock everything but a little more shift pressure. On an escalade they have 0.000 shift times, but i havent gotten that adventurous to copy it. Same gear, same weight but i have a little more power

I wouldn't touch the shift pressures if the only change you made was a torque converter. Sounds like the multi plate TC may not have enough pressure at those shift points. If you want, I can take a look at your EFILive tune and make a few suggestions.

I have a yank 3200 single disc in my G8. The tune Dave @ Yank sent me at first had it shifting kinda like what you were describing. I think I put my tune in the depository. The 40 mph pulsing is probably just the converter locking. You may need to raise the mph for lockup. Mine did that at 45 so I raised it by a few mph, mine is probably geared higher than yours. 2.92 stock gears. Check the depository for G8/5th gen or truck tunes with stalls and compare the tcc tables if you are using HP tuners that is.
