Default 06 trailblazer ss p0717 input speed sensor hard shift 1-2

i have a 06 trailblazer ss it shift hard between 1-2 by fine in 3-4 throwing dtc p0717 and p0700 anyone run into this issue before and have any advice. dealer tells me theres only a output speed sensor. another form tells me that the input speed sensor is behind the trans pump... dont want to pull the trans and get into for nothing.

'06 is a transitional year; as best I know, some vehicles with a 4L60E had an Input Speed Sensor (ISS), some did not. "New" things tend to show up in performance applications first, e.g. Corvettes, but a Trailblazer SS is also a performance vehicle. It probably has a 4L65E with ISS; especially since you are getting the p0717 (ISS) code.

Replacing an ISS would be an expensive pain - the trans has to be removed and then the pump pulled. I believe a good tuner should be able to disable the ISS codes and the PCM/TCM work fine without it.
Or, with luck, it might only be a broken wire that could be fixed by dropping the pan.

If you want to check it yourself, drop the pan and look in the front driver's side corner where the shift rod comes in. (Upper right in this picture):

An ISS has an extra connector with the brown, red and green wires.
(Note: This is a 2010 trans which will be a bit different from yours in other ways.)

That is a bummer - pulling and opening a trans for a chaffed wire.
