Need Help with a 4L60E
The tranny in my Tahoe took a poop. My hubby and I are pulling it apart, there was LOTS of "liquid metal" in the pan. Lost all gears including forward and reverse. Park held though.
There was some sort of clip WEDGED between the tranny case and the rear most clutch pak (sorry no manual yet so I don't know the exact term). From what I see that stopped the output planetary gear from spinning right and it decided to blow itself apart. There was also what looked like the remains of a torrington bearing. The sun gear was pretty bad.
Any recomendations on what I should be ordering?? So far I've got a high performance rebuild kit with Alto Red clutches, Kolene steels and a Kevlar lined Band, a Vette servo, Transgo Valve Body kit, Transgo Seperator plate and a 13 Vane pump kit. We'll be looking into a upgraded towing convertor as soon as I can get an answer about the computer needing to be flashed to deal with the higher stall speed, if not we'll be going with the std OEM type convertor.
