Torque converter bolts backing out
I had the torque converter bolts loosen up, and one be ripped out of the converter the other day. I used bolts with blue locktite that I found at oreilleys. They were 10 x 1.5. Why do they back out? Would arp bolts do any better? Is red locktite enough?
Now I need a new flexplate, and my brand new converter needs to be fixed.

That link does not work.
I don't recall any other threads or mentions of converter bolts coming loose.
Personally I use lots of red loctite and a Ryobi 1/2" battery impact wrench to both install and remove the bolts; no need to hold the crank then. I've never had a loose bolt, but then I remove the trans several times a year for experimentation purposes. I estimate I tighten to about 70 ft lbs.
IIRC, the spec is only 46 ft lbs. (So don't do what I do.)

I knew they were loose when one shot out and grinded on the flex plate. When I took the others out they were loose also.
I'm ordering arp bolts and am going to add red locktite.
