Default Can't decide which verter

I have a 224/228 cam, stage 2 ls6 style heads, Lsx intake and all the bolt ons. The car currently has 2.73 gears which will change as soon as I save up for a 12 bolt. As for now no 12 bolt. The car also has a TNT 150 wet shot at times. Not often but sometimes. Streetability is also a concern. I can't really decide. HELP!

Seeing as you already have a pretty stout NA motor combo , plus nitrous, I would not go much higher than a 3800 stall with the spry on the car, Personally you cant beat TCI for the money and costomer service, kevin winstead is a great person to talk to and work with at TCI. I currently have a TCI 3800 stall and coming out only half throttle then nailing it my car pulls consistant low 1.6s for 60ft with ET streets If I had some Real slicks Ill bet I could pull easy mid 1.5s with this converter.

Why is that? I'm getting one next week...My rear end snapped after my second pass after the new head/cam install. I have seen them last on other cars running much faster than I. But I refuse to waste money on this pretzel of a rear end.

I usually tell A4 folks to run 'em 'till the break (which is very commonly never with stock gearing) and then upgrade. Certainly don't put any money into one.

I agree about the TCI 3800. For best NA running I would suggest a little looser converter but you're going to be spraying so 3800 should be your limit. Unless you want to go to a Yank SS4000. That would work well with the spray since it has the shift extension characterists of a 3800 stall.

I was thinking the 3800 would be best and Midwest seems to have a decent verter. I also like the yank as well. I may go with the 3200 if I get a good deal on a used one. Unless I should stay away from used verters? Eventually I will be getting a TH400 as well so I don't want to spend 1000 dollars on a new verter. Good info though!
