95 4l60e leak
well i have a 1995 Camaro LT1. Auto 4L60e.
the last time the transmission got a filter change was about 3 yrs ago.
about 3 days ago i noticed that the reverse does not work anymore.
I currently have a leak on the transmission. I am unaware were its coming from.
The reverse works sometimes. It leaks alot. I have to refill it every 3-5 days.
Sometimes 1-2 days. Any tips are welcome.

4l60e leak
well i took the car to a trans shop.
they found a fluid leak on the VSS. they replaced the o'ring in it.
They showed me that the VSS had alot of the metal shavings on it coming from the trans internals. They also did a trans service and the trans pan had some metal shavings also. the reverse also works sometimes if you push the gas slowly lol. i just wanted the fluid from leaking. They will end up doing a trans rebuild for 1250 or so. I will drive the car for about another week or until it dies, lol. this shop is called AllWorldTransmissions in garland, tx. so far i have confidence in them. GJ shop cyall soon.

Your trans is 18 years old. No surprise that it needed a rebuild.
If you plan to take the car to the strip or drive it hard, you should get a performance rebuild from a shop experienced with such.
I don't know what their backlog is, but Jake's Performance is close to you in Sanger TX, 57 miles away. I would at least call them.

Even if you drive easy, I would still recommend Jake's Performance. At least call them and get their price and time needed for a basic rebuild. A "Level 1" rebuild from many performance shops is the same price as a local rebuild and less than from a chain. For $50 in "extra" parts and 15 minutes of extra time, I (and any performance shop) can rebuild a 4L60E much stronger than stock as long as you are willing to have firmer shifts. GM designed these transmissions for a wide range of applications, including where the customers want imperceptibly soft shifts. Stock line pressure is low to save maybe 1/10 mpg. If those are not your priorities, a more durable performance trans can be built. This is another reason to go to a performance shop because local shops typically only know how to build to the "soft" stock specs.
