Braided cooling lines

Braided cooling lines I recently just purchased a pair of braided transmission cooler lines. They came with the lines, four connectors, and two washers. The package didn't come with any instructions. I was wondering if anyone knew what the washers are for? My guess is they function for sealing but I'm not sure.
