Default Braided cooling lines

I recently just purchased a pair of braided transmission cooler lines. They came with the lines, four connectors, and two washers. The package didn't come with any instructions. I was wondering if anyone knew what the washers are for? My guess is they function for sealing but I'm not sure.

Plastic washer?

Prob for the trans housing seal.

if they are copper washers they will go on the fittings that attach to the trans
