Default what year 80e can i use?

hey guys im working on doing a motor and tranny swap in my v

as it turns out the motor i got (99 lq4) has the longer rear crank snout for a auto tranny.

my plan is to swap a 80e in to the car with the pcs-2000 tcm doing taking care of the tranny commands.

what i need to know is can i only use the 80e that came on those 2 years of motors with that snout or will any 80e fit and just leave the spacer off that most use?

Any year will fit. Late model input shafts are different in some design aspects such as lubrication, but not in physical length, diameter or spline count.

What's different about the lubrication?

Sorry I was pretty tired when I posted that. I had main shaft on the mind when the topic was input shaft. I also neglected to mention that some of the late model input shafts came factory hardened. Good catch, thank you!
