Should I buy this?

Should I buy this?
Local guy has a 4L60e. I believe it is a late model, has M30 on the side of the case, and 4l60e, has 6 hex bolts on the tailshaft. I have not seen it, so I do not know if it has the 300mm input shaft.
Trouble is, it is a two piece Bell housing, and he does not have one on it.
He said it was rebuilt awhile back but has zero miles on it. Said it would not fit his Tahoe.
I would be putting it behind a 2002 LQ9 6.0
Thoughts?

You absolutely need one with a 300mm input shaft which looks like this:
You can buy a bell housing from ebay seller "powertrainpartsplus" whom I have been very happy with. They currently have one available for $39.

Thanks...I keep going round and round with this transmission choice. I want to save a few bucks if I can, but am concerned about buying one from a private seller. In this case, he says it has zero miles on it since the rebuild, but has no paperwork, and said it was built by a shop in TN, whom he cannot remember the name.
He has no idea where the bell housing is, said it must have been "stolen"....
I keep coming back to spending the extra money and buying one from a local shop, which has a warranty and a place to go if it needs repair....
But everytime I see what could be a "deal" on craigslist I check it out....

Exception: Some (all?) LS1 Corvettes also use the 298mm input shaft and LT style converter.

I have confirmed this transmission in question does not have the 300mm input shaft. I think I can get it for around $200 bucks...
Is the input shaft fairly easy to change, and would a 300mm fit in it?

No!
The entire input drum and pump need to be changed. Not cheap and not trivial.
If you do decide to proceed anyway, first be sure it is a '96 through '06 trans as other years will not work with your PCM.

You really don't need to buy a brand new one for $2200(??). Sponsors like PerformaBuilt, FLT and RPM sell carefully rebuilt ones with performance upgrades starting at $1500. These will shift better and last longer behind a 450+HP engine that a brand new factory one.
