Default Quick question about my torque converter

Installed my torque converter on my transmission, felt the three clicks when I seated it. But I can still kinda shake it around a little bit.Like if I grab it with both hands and try to shake it, it feels loose. But I am 100% positive with no doubts that I heard and felt 3 clicks. Is the looseness normal for aftermarket converters?

Its a PTC converter, SS series I believe. Trans is a 4l60e on a 2002 Z28.

Don't go by the click method, measure the distance from the edge of the bell housing to the face of the converter mounting pads..

Should be 1.125"

That will make sure the converter is engaged the right amount into the transmission..

Ok I measured it at the same time. I don't know the exact length but it was between 1 1/16" and 1 1/4". I'm confident that its on there correctly. I just want to make absolute sure before I bolted the trans back up. The way it feels on the trans has me a little worried though. being my first tc install, I don't really know what to expect.

dimensions seem OK. It's not gonna have any ridgidity as it's just engaging splines and tabs, when it's bolted(convertor to flexplate) is when the looseness will be gone and the convertor will be centered into the tranny.

You want it to be 1 1/8 after you have tightened it down..

And need the proper washer thickness between the converter pads and flex plate to give you that..

Measure the gap between the mounting pads and flex plate?

Yes it will shake a little even when bottomed out. Search converter spacing and read all that.

What was the measurement after you torqued the converter down?

While 1-1/8" (1.125) is the desired measurement, anything over about 7/8" indicates the converter is properly engaged into the pump.

Then after the trans is fully bolted and tightened down, measure the distance between the converter's mounting tabs and the flexplate. The distance should be between 1/16" and 3/16"; anything over 1/4" and the converter might pull out of the pump; less than 1/16" and heat expansion might jam the converter into the pump.

That measurement will be zero.
What did you mean? After tightening the trans to the engine?

Don't have the measurement yet. I should have it all bolted up by Tuesday. But I know that right now the gap is around 1 1/2- 1 1 3/4. Judging by the TC bolts' length, I should be real close to 1 1/16- 1 1-4 when it's all bolted up.
