Default Trans and Converter weight inside- Info thread

First off, if any one has personally weighed a stock 4l80 converter or has weighed any after market converter personally, please post up. Trying to keep this an accurate source of info...

I looked all over trying to find this info, and hopefully this will save the next guys some searching

Starting off with my personally confirmed numbers- I weighed my old 4l60 converter and my new Circle D 4l80 converter
GM 258mm Pro II 4L80E Torque Converter
Pro Performance Stage I Billet Single Disk Torque Converter
Converter Diameter - 258mm - 10 1/4"
- 38.2lbs

Stock 2000 Camaro 4l60e converter 298mm- (it had some fluid in it so it may be 1-4lbs lighter dry)48.2 lbs

Now weights from reputable sources..
Per Car Craft Magazine
Trans Weight w/o converter
4L80E 187 pounds
TH400 130 pounds
4L60E 160 pounds
TH350 125 pounds

I wish I knew. all else being equal, add or subtract ~2lb per quart.

I don't think the 4L60E weight is right - I can lift it by myself without a converter and I cannot lift 160lbs. I thought it was about 120 lbs and post #2 in this thread would agree:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...60e-weigh.html

(The weights listed in #6 are clearly with a converter and a 4L65E certainly does not weigh 30 lbs more than a 4L60E; at most 2 lbs.)
It seems that many "reputable sources" are just rehashing the same inaccurate info.

It's been a few years ago but I weighed a core 4L80E (stock pan, 2wd core, residual fluid) it was 178 lbs.

A Th400 was 134.
Th350 was 125 (short tail core).

I would estimate a 3 pc 4L60E at 135-140 lbs.
200-4R is probably 125-130.

I want to say my FTI 9.5in 2800 stall weighed just under 30 lbs dry. For the LT1 4L60E. My stock converter was right at 50 lbs with fluid in it.

I weighed a stock 80E converter and it was ballpark 60 lbs, prob had some fluid in it
GM listed the 80E and converter around 227 lbs, I forget the exact amt, would have to look it up again
I have a new FTI converter going in today, its heavy, i'll weigh it
I know a PG isn't that heavy, but if handled wrong, kiss your rotator cuff good by, as I found out a year ago, lol
