Default wtb-4l60e shift linkage for a camaro

I have been searching for this part for a few weeks now and haven't had any luck. If you have one or know where I can buy one let me know. The dealer told me they were discontinued.

It looks like GM #15082892. GMpartdirect.com and others sell it. I have a pic of it on my iPhone, so either I have it or my local trans shop has one (in case you cannot find it anywhere else.)

Do you know if that is the one with the 10mm ****? I went to two different dealers here and they tell me the part I need is discontinued. I will check to see if they have that part number tomorrow.

What do you mean by "10mm ****"?
When I asked my friend at the trans shop for the linkage to a 4L60E, he showed me that part and I took a picture of it with part # because I know this question has come up before.

Why not just buy it from GMPartDirect? It is only $5 plus shipping. If its wrong, you can sell it to me.

There are two different size *****. The old one is 6mm, which is what I have. It had problems with corrosion from what I could find. The one with the 10mm ball is the one I need cause I have the new shifter cable. Can you ask your trans guy to measure the ball?

A 10mm ball would be huge (almost 1/2") - almost tie-rod sized.
Estimating from my picture, the ball is about 3mm and looks just like the picture in your first post. Please re-confirm what you need; if the shop is open I could pick up or measure the part tomorrow.

Thanks for the thread. It mentions "10mm", but I have no idea what that measures. I suspect the base of the ball-part that bolts/welds to the lever.

Why not just measure the inside diameter of the cup on your shift cable and I will compare that to the actual ball diameter on the lever.

These digital calipers are only $19 at Harbor Freight:

I often see coupons in the car mags to get them for $10.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I got strep throat. I measured the one I have and is 6mm. The cable I have is about 9mm, so I think the 10mm one is right.

You might have to change your shifter cable to use the more common ball size.

I guess I could go that route. Didn't think finding this piece would be that hard. Anyone have the shifter cable?
