Default need help deciding, 4l60e vs 4l80e

I would like to apologize for asking another 4l60 vs 4l80 question. But IM having a hard time deciding which one fits my application best. I have a g body Monte Carlo ss, about 3500 pounds. And I have an Lq4 with tsp ls6 heads and a 228r cam. This will primarily be a street vehicle, but occasionally I would like to be able to put on a set of slicks and run it on the 1/4 mile. I think I will be looking at around 400rwhp, no spray, no forced induction.

IM considering 3 different options.
1. I bought a 4l80e from a local junkyard for 75 dollars, I could do a stock rebuild on it plus a transgo HD shift kit.

2. Purchase a 4l60 from a reputable vendor, IM considering FLT, or performabuilt. Although IM leaning performabuilt only because IM from PA, and he is relatively close.

3. Purchase a 4l80 from jakes.

I know the 4l80e is stronger and more durable, but I don't know if I need it at my power level. But yet, I don't want to rebuild the 4l60 a year from now and wish I had bought the 80e.

If the 4L80E fits your car without major mods to the floor pan, I would get the junkyard 4L80E, do the rebuild and add the Transgo shift kit.
That will likely last a long time at any LS engine non-adder power level.
I a 4L60E enthusiast, but that is my suggestion for you.

It's fairly common for guys to use the 4l80 in the g body, the Floor pan usually needs some massaging around the rear oil cooler port on center lube models

Since you have a 80e already, I would add the shift kit in it and make it work. At that power level and the cars weight, It should work like a charm for a while.

A nice 60e from any vendor would work as well. I myself was debating the something and I ended up getting a 60e trans from FLT.
