Opinions on stall level for my project???
Well I finally sold my LS car this evening and am gathering parts for my new project.
Specs are as follows:
2000 Chevy 1500 RCSB (around 4000lbs)
05' LQ9 stock long block
Cam: 235/242 .620/.593 109+2 with springs and pushrods
Vic Jr manifold
850 annular Demon
1-7/8" longtubes
Most likely a 150 shot of gas
TH400 or manual shifted 4L80E
4:10 gear in a 9" most likely
26" or 28" tires
I was told to look for a 4000+ stall for the combo but I want other opinions. Truck will be street/strip. I was looking for something closer to 3600 for around town. Also curious as to opinions on which tranny for the truck. Would really like to get the 4L80E with a good stall, HD3 kit, and a Kilduff shifter but I am not sure if my budget will allow it. TH400 parts seem to be a lot more in line with my budget. Just want some thoughts before I start spending. Thanks!

We could do a converter for either the 4l80e or th400 in the ls bolt pattern so there's no flexplate confusion. How often will you be at the track? We can get aggressive or tame depending on the amount of street driving you do. If you opt for the 4l80, I suggest a multi disk because of the truck's weight, and it gives the option of lockup under power. When you're ready, fill out an ask Chris form and we can get you exactly what you need. Link in sig.
