Default Jakes 80e

Gotta drop the pan and replace the internal harness so I am gonna obviously need new fluid. Been reading about JD hygraurd vs regular ATF, and was wondering if something like this is an acceptable alternative to JD?

Thanks

I got some to put in my 80. Its thicker than standard atf, which will tighten the converter, which will generate a little less heat. Gonna try it out soon. At roughly 2.16 a quart including tax, its worth a shot compared to regular atf.

Regular Dexron type fluid is what I typically recommend. There is no need for fancy fluid for most combos. I recommend the Hygard type fluid for turbo combos that will be spooling on the brake for more than 2-3 seconds.

Thats what I have

The trans has regular dex fluid in it now, is there a danger to switching to hygard?

Is there any truth to it tightening up a loose converter?

If it's thicker will it go through a regular filter without starvation issues?
