Default Does this look normal for a 3600?

I've seen videos of other 3600 converters, but they didn't seem quite this loose.

Mine's a PTC 3600, and I have 2.73 gears. I'm putting in 3.90's in a few weeks, hopefully. Will that tighten up the converter a bit?

How does it look to you more experienced guys?

Don't mind the dusty *** interior. There's lots of dust in the air around here.

Looks to be alright. Im not sure how PTC specs their converters, but some are looser/tighter than others that are the same stall speed. For example, some people claim that a 3200 vig converter is comparable to a 3600 yank. When you do the gears it will tighten it up. I noticed a bit of a difference when I went from 3.23s to 3.73s. I have a video of my car with the ss3600/3.23 combo and if you'd like I can post it up so you can compare.

Sure. Post it up.

I've probably already seen it on youtube though. I've been watching a lot of stalled car vids.

That is about how my SS4000 acted with 3.23 gears so I would wager that's within the normal range for a 3600 with 2.73s

That's because people buy off the shelf converters. The same converter is going to do five different things in five different combos.

looks about normal too me, ive had a vig3600 and currently have a yank3600, the VIG was a little bit looser than the Yank. But from your video it looks about like what my VIG was. You should do some 3.73s though, will really wake that car up.

Thanks for the input man, I appreciate it.

Martin from Tick, recommended 3.90 gears with this converter, and the cam he spec'd for me.

I saw that video last night. Thanks for posting it.

My mind is at ease now, knowing that's how it should react.

It feels much different than when I had the 3k converter in my 72 Camaro. That has 4.56 gears though.

Cool, thanks man.

I'm getting used to it now already.

It just felt like I was messing something up at first when it was slipping like that.
