Default Will an lt1 style 4l60e bolt up to my ls1?

Dlong story short, I have a 3600 stall that fits an lt1 input shaft, but fits an ls1 flywheel.. So I'm wondering if I can find a cheap lt1 style 4l60e will the bell housing bolt up to my ls, and my extremely weird stall?

Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!

Yea, you will not be able to use the bolt on the 1:30 position for the Trans and the 12 O clock position on the motor.

And of course the 2 lower bolts do not exist on the lt1 trans. No different than a th350/400 swap.

It will bolt up and the converter should work.

Ok guys I have a(2001) 5.3 ,compuetr and wiring harness, also a 1996 4L60E. will that computer operate that 4l60E properly? or what should I do to convert it to work right? or is it better that I get a newer tranny? Thanks.

The 2001 PCM will operate the '96 4L60E just fine; it will work with any '96 through '07 4L60E/4L65E/4L70E.
However, your '96 with KT-style converter will not quite bolt up; you need to add a spacer on the flexplate to properly hold the pilot on the shorter LT converter. Also the flexplate holes for the converter pads need to be elongated or you install a dual-pattern flexplate.
Here are the part numbers:

Parts for LT trans on LS engine
----------------------------------
12563532 flexplate to crank spacer
19257940 bolts (need 6 bolts)
19260102 dual-pattern flexplate

However, my real concern is that if this is a high mileage, never-been-rebuilt '96 trans, it likely will not last long behind a more powerful engine. I advise getting a newer trans, especially a '03 or later so that you are more likely to get good life out of it.
