Lightbulb vavle body torque specs

Hey. I just did a transgo kit install last week, and bolted everything back together, and I used AllData, and found the valve body bolt torque specs and they say I think 6-10 ft/lbs. Well I put them all to 9lbs, but Im still finding that hard to believe, cause I dont see that being enough to stop any fluid from getting passed the gaskets. I know theres alot of the bolts on the valve body, so it probably will be good, but before I fill it up with fluid, Im wondering what everyone else torqued theres down to before, or if anyone has any input.
