Default How to tell an RPM level IV trans?

Guy on Craigslist is claiming he has a RPM level IV 4l60e. Do they mark their trans? Stamp them? Need to know do I don't go get fucked over.

Call them up and ask what they normally put on them.

Not sure about RPM, but many of the premium builders use a billet 4th gear servo that has their name on it. Even the PerformaBuilt Level-2 has a billet servo cover.
This part is visible to the outside. If it just has the stock servo cover, I doubt it is a premium build.

Without looking up on their site, I would also expect that high level build to have billet shafts too correct?

Maybe the output shaft. IIRC, even on the FLT Level-7 a billet input shaft is an extra $400 option.

If he bought it from RPM then get the receipt emailed to you then call RPM up with the info. I'm sure they mark it in some way. I hope it's for a really good deal. Buying a used tansmission even if built is something I would never buy used.
