Difference in TH400 and 4l60 converters
Just like the title says. Bought a Stang with a 5.3 and th400. Just needs a converter now. I have a Circle D still laying around from my last build. Will it fit? I'd really like to use it if possible. Save me a ton of $$$. Thanks guys

No, for multiple reasons. I don't think you can use a lockup converter in a non lock up Trans. I put a non lock converter in a lock up Trans when I was young and didn't know what a lockup was, the truck made it like 75 feet before it smoked the Trans

I hate to break the news, but there's no way that will work.
Different pump and turbine hubs, different height, the 4L60E converter has a lockup clutch meant for a lockup capable transmission (which the TH400 is not).
I'll send you a PM, I can probably help you out with a good deal on a TH400 converter.
EDIT: Left this tab open too long lol, someone else beat me to it.
