Default 4l60e lost 1st and 4th after converter install

Ok I'm thinking this is just related to slip and if I clear the code it will remedy it. Anyone else have this issue?

About the only thing 1st and 4th have in common is Solenoid A. If you are getting a code, scan it to see if it is solenoid related. Perhaps a pin got bent or a wire broken on the trans connector. Just a guess at this point.

Or maybe you are in limp mode - just 3rd gear.

I don't think it was a pin or connector issue. The trans shifted fine for 100 or so miles. I've heard with a loose converter this has happened to a few people. It is in limp mode, stays in third but will go into second manually.

Its very common, you need to scan the specific code your getting then change the DTC to no error reported, done.
