This may kind of give you an idea of how the car would react with some gears and a stall.

good to hear. ill just hunt for some gears and a stall combo. i dont drive it everyday so m not worried about it being loose. maybe a yank 3500-4000 and some 3.73s?

im not sure if i should cam it too, i hear you match stalls to work with the cam selection correct?

thanks for the help man, you called it. I just really couldnt believe how detrimental those gears are to our cars. its a wonder they put them in as an option at all. i think i read it was just to have a gas friendly model? either way, terrible gears.

Yank, Circle D and Vigilante all make great stalls to name a few honestly you can contact alote of the sponsors on here and run by them what cam your deciding on and they can point you in the right direction- me personally im using Circle D but you cant go wrong either way.

As long as you go at least 3600 on the converter you can pretty much run any cam you want. Check out PTC converters as well.

Did we rule out converter lockup at 90? Could be locking up in 3rd for some reason. He said he was counting the shifts.

Apparently I can't count to 4.

It's just my tall gears. There's a video on page 1

I DD a 4000rpm converter on 2.73s (the steeper rear gear makes a converter feel looser) and it was nothing. On a 3.73 i personally wouldnt go below 4400 on a decently tight converter wether its a DD or not. Its just something you get used to, i personally liked the loose feeling, some dont. Have a converter specced for you, you can have a tight 4000 and a sloppy 4000, all about how the converter itself is built.
