Default th400 and 4l80e steels

Are they interchangable ? Tore apart the 4l80e I got and the steels for the direct clutches are trash. Explains why it was slipping in 2-3.

My friend said he has some brand new th400 steels from his last rebuild he said I could have if they work for the 4l80e.

I want to say that they are interchangeable depending on year of 4L80E, but you may want to call Transtar or WIT (Whatever It Takes Transmission) and ask them how thick they are. I know the clutches are different. Depends on how much clearance you want to have.............

They are the same steels, but they have two different thickness ones to get the travel were you need it. The thin one .779" have a "v" notch on one tab of the O.D. The thick do not.
