Lost a snap ring on a 4l60e can somebody name it?
Hi guys, I'm rebuilding my 4l60e transmission and lost the top foremost snap ring on the input drum. It is a large snap ring and the very last before compleating the input drum. I've been lookng all over online and I only ever find 3-4 snapring which I believe is on the inside of the input drum, not exposed. Maybe a picture will help

Does anybody know the correct name of the part, or encountered this before? I want to make sure I'm spending money on the right part if I have to buy a new one. So I figured I'd ask the experts, which is you guys. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Yes, it is called the 3/4 clutch snap ring.
I show it as #08663636, it is $8.06 on Amazon or your local dealer should be able to get it in a day, maybe less.
BTW - How many frictions are in your 3/4 clutch? The stock 6 frictions are insufficient for any performance use. The 7 frictions in the 4L65E (and included in a 4L65E rebuild kit which fits any '96 or later 4L60E) should be consider the minimum. Many go with 8.

I had that happen to me on my rebuild, found it online but the company screwed is over and never sent it. Wound up going to a local builder who was able to hook us up with one for free.

Thank you for the replys! 3-4, got it. Thanks!
Mr.Vedit, I have six raybestos gpz fritions and five steels. It is not really a performance oriented vehicle as of the moment. In the future, yes. But for now it is my daily driver so I am unfortunately to stay on the conservative side of things.
Y87Bird, thank you for the heads up, I'll make sure to buy from a reputable dealer if I purchase one online.
