New TH400 installed... Is this normal?
A little background first. The car is a 99 SS 6.0 turbo car (10 lbs). The trans is brand new RPM trans, rmvb, trans brake. FTI stall. This is my first time driving with it since I got it home from the shop that installed it for me.
After installed, the car was tuned at a dragstrip. It performed flawlessly all day. I never drove it, one of the shop guys did. So I get the car home and drive it basically for the first time. When I shift from 1st to 2nd, there is very little to no RPM drop. It sounds like I didn't even shift. 2nd to 3rd the RPM's drop about 700 and keep pulling just fine. Is the 1-2 shift normal? At WOT it is the same.

I can't feel it shift. It feels like a 2 speed trans. Watching some of the videos of it at the track you can hear it shift. Maybe I'm just paranoid and unfamiliar with it.

I don't know, I can feel mine pretty good. Infact the 1-2 is kind of violent feeling, especially under some throttle. 2-3 is a little softer, but I can steel feel that. Mine doesn't drop any RPM, but you can defiantly feel it shift. But who knows, maybe your valve body or trans is set up different. If it's running the number at the track I guess I wouldn't worry about it....You could have broke the 2nd gear sprag and it's just staying in 1st when you shift to 2nd. Post a video if you can.
