Default Best way to drain 4l60e

I need to know the best way to drain all fluid from my trans so I can ship it. The trans it out of the car already.

I was going to pull the pan then hang the trans from my cherry picker and let it drain out of the tail shaft over night, but could use some more help on this one.

with trans out and convertor removed,I just remove the pan, pop the filter out and then let drain. after done draining,re-install filter and pan.

That will leave a surprising amount of fluid in the trans, but is probably a good first step.
The OP's idea of hanging it tailshaft down will help drain more out.
You really need different positions to get most of it out.

"Closed" areas like the accumulators and servo will hold ATF regardless.

Yes you will never get it all out but draining as you say will do most of it or as much as can be done . Then when you put pan back on leave filter off but stuff paper towels in it before installing pan will help also.

Put a durable "NO FILTER!" label on the trans if you leave the filter off during shipping. You or the recipient don't want to overlook that when it is reinstalled.
