Default D and 3rd are out from a dead stop

I have a 95 trans am. While driving last night at part throttle my I felt a really hard shift. Now when I put it in drive or 3rd it will just rev and go nowhere.

The only way I could get it to work was starting in first and manually shifting my way up to 2 and then at around 3k rpm I can shift into 3rd and then D. If it's at too low of a speed while I try up shifting it will just rev. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

blown forward sprag. manually engageing 1st or 2nd from a stop causes the overrunning clutch to engage and be use for all gears.

My sprag blew racing at the strip in July of 2009. Knowing that a tranny replacement was in the future,I began watching for trannys'. Went and picked one up in Indiana in January of 2010. Picked another one up in Cincinnati in July of 2010. Don't trust used trannys' so I wanted a backup. Went to Florida driving it manually in November of 2010. May of 2011,4th gear went, being that I was running 4.56s',time for replacement as that 4th overdrive was needed. Put in the Indiana tranny and been running that one since.
23 months of driving with a blown sprag and manually shifting. Learned after a while that manually taking it into 1st wasn't necessary, just down to 2nd. In 2nd from a stop actually put itself into 1st to start from.
