Default 4L60E upgrade

I am in need of some advice. I am switching out my t56 from my 02 Z28 for a 4l60e and before I put it in I was going to do some of the basics, ex. hd2, servo, boost valve and while I am in there, the separater plate. And at the same time, I am installing lt with ory. Afterwards I am getting it tuned. My question is do I need to have the tuner adjust the line pressure also? I am trying to also decide on a torque converter. Thanks for any help.

The HD2 shift kits increases the pressures all by itself; it should not be necessary to change the tune. Everything else you are doing sounds very good, especially replacing the separator plate (use Transgo 46-PLT-96). You might also consider the Sonnax HD 2-3 shift valve which reduces the strain on the forward sprag when you race in [D3].

CircleD, FLT and Yank are the converter sponsors and you cannot go wrong with any of them. You will go wrong if you buy something under $400; the cheap ones have weak lockup clutches which often fail and then clog up the transmission too.

Thanks for the reply. I heard something about torque management. Also the 278 circle d converter is some where around 3000 to 3200, would that be sufficient?

I and many people here turn off torque management; it does put more strain on your trans, but has a very satisfying shift feel to it.
For someone used to the tightness of a manual trans, I think a 3000-3200 stall will be perfect, although still take some getting used to. You will be impressed by how hard the car launches.
Best to talk to CircleD about which size converter to get.
