Keep flexplate or get new one
I am swapping a my 4l60 out for a 4l80 that's going on a ls1. The current flexplate on there now is a cat power plate. Is it worth buying a new one or am I safe with the one I got. Car makes 327rwhp.

First, your current flexplate is probably not drilled for the 4L80E converter pattern.
(It probably has two patterns - 10.75 for TH350/700R4 and 11.06 for LS-style 4L60E, but a 4L80E needs 11.50.)
You will also need the GM spacer and 6 longer bolts.

Yea the converter is custom, 80 converter made to fit with the ls1. So with that said, would a spacer and longer bolts be needed, I think I have arp flexplate bolts on it now. I still may consider the tci plate though just for when I end up making more power

By default, we use the 6 lug 4l80e pattern that fits the flat flexplate.. You can either include in the notes that you would like to have this converter built with the LS bolt pattern so you wouldn't have to change flex plates at all or run any spacers.
