Default TC for daily driving, hot weather & heavy caprice

ive did many searchs about this subject.. i know its was discussed many times
but im special for these reasons:
1) my car is the new caprice 2002: 3,925 lbs, gen3 engine 5.7 (295 hp)
2) the gear: 4L60-E but i have different Final drive ratio: 3.07
3) the weather where i live (kuwait) is very very hot specialy in summer .. today its 111°/84°
4) im daily driver and street racer

what i want is the best results i can get, by installing TC, tranny cooler and shift kit, with 99% garanty that these wont damage my tran.

im confused about the TC stall becuase ive read that the more stall means the more heat for trans means.. im not so worry about the traction cuase ill get new tires.. so what stall u advice??
what tranny cooler should i get?? 20k, 24k, 28k???

I'll tell you this much, I'd put the biggest tranny cooler you can fit in that thing with those temps!

If you do alot of low speed driving (under 40 mph), then I would get a conservative stall. Around a 3000. If you drive mostly above 40 mph, where the TC locks up, you won't build up much more heat than the stock one would, so you could get a bigger stall. About a 3200 - 3500 is what most will recommend for a 3500 lbs f-body daily driver. I would also recommend a tranny cooler with an electric fan and a deep pan for more capacity for that hot weather.

well its not that hot here in michigan but my temps tend to get up there. i have a fan switch and a cooler. i am looking to add another cooler in the next few days. if i was you i would buy 2-28K coolers and a fan switch. more the better and since you have the room i would go that route. i think you will be safe with what i suggested. with those kinda temps you need to keep things REALLY COOL. if you dont plan on lowering the car i would get a deep trans pan. that will also help.

when it comes to converters your gonna haveta decide what kind of driving you do. think real hard what its like. under 40mph or over 40mph. if its under 40 go for around 3000 but if its over then go for 3500+

I agree with all the above, but I would like to add that you should get a trans temp gauge to keep an eye on things. Good luck!!

1st I would get a Tranny temp guage, see what your tranny is running without the TC.

After you get a good idea of what your car normally operates in different driving conditions, then get a converter. Like the others have said, if you drive under 40 a lot, go for a 3500~ converter, if you stay at highway speeds, then go bigger. I have a Yank SS3800 and love it, but I wish I went with the SS4000E so I could spray. Oh well thats my mistake. So I recommend you go with a SS4000E.

With any converter your trans temps will rise, so you will need at least 1 tranny cooler for your application, a 28K sounds good. See what happens with the temps, if they are at about what your car was running before, then I would suggest getting a "deep pan" all it is is a tranny pan which is deeper therefore allows you to have more tranny fluid in there. If your still not happy with the tranny temp, then you could add more coolers to lower the temp. I think an ideal temp would be 160-180 degrees and your tranmission will be happy

u said a fan switch.. did u mean installing a new fan or just install a switch for the stock radiator engine fan??
