roller clutch race grind 4l60e?

No, you don't. That is a mod some of us builders use to do when we added a bearing and support to relieve the stress put on the bearing under the sun gear. Sonnax has now made this available to DIY builders with their Smart Shell #77749-02K.

Thanks for information!
I have a kit from Dana and there was included an old technical DVD where they remove material from the race for the beast sunshell. In the internet i havent found much information any of doing so and i guessed there can be an option not doing it.

I watch that DVD again and they used regular plastic washer what comes with the beast, so no bearing was added in the DVD.
They grind material off inside of the race because of thicker wall off the beast to have more side play there. How much side play there should be or is enough???
Without grinding i have 0.02" side play with beast and regular roller clutch race.
Stock sunshell side play is 0.14".

Years ago they used to grind some of the inner part of the race where it could make contact with the Beast sunshell. If I remember correctly, the makers of the sunshell at that time thinned out the thickness of the shell in that area (it increased the clearance between the shell and race) so that you did not have to grind the inner part of the race anymore. I have not seen any problems here in years, so I gather you are ok without any grinding here.
