No it's like small sharp pieces of wire that stab you. Easiest way I have found to cut it is a sharp pair of hand shears, like for cutting sheet metal. Some use a cut off wheel, or a chisel/blade setup, but the shears make a cleaner cut and don't distort the hose much. I've only see one stainless braided hose fail, it rubbed on some sharp sheet metal and had a small hole in it. The pushlock stuff is really easy to use, and I use it on vacuum/pcv setups. The thing I don't like about the rubber/nylon pushlock is it starts to deteriorate and crack over time.

I prefer the black braided hose ( not pushlock), easier to assemble, saves the fingers, and does the SAME damn thing as stainless.

Buy the right hose, it won't deteriorate and it will last. I have black braided nylon for every single fluid transfer system on my car.

I used harbor freight large cable cutters for my -6 line and it is the cleanest cut I have ever had (when they get dull use the life time warranty for a new set), Then I used KOUL tools Hose and Fitting Kit to assemble them. So easy wish I would of found this set up years ago.
