Default Recommend me a converter - 4L80

Coming over to the USA in a couple of months and I want to get some of the heavy parts for my LQ9 install. One of the things I need to get is a torque converter to fit my 4L80 as I never did fit a decent one.

I'm currently running the rubbish stock truck one, but obviously I don't want to keep that in there. I'd like some recommendations for what to go for and who to speak to...

I'll be running a Comp XE-R 54-448-11 cam, motor started life as an LQ9, 6.0. Rear gears are 4.10's, 29" tires.

Mostly street use, with occasional strip. Need a lock up.

I was thinking 3000rpm stall? Possibly the 278mm HP converter from Circle D. Any other suggestions?

I'm not on an unlimited budget here...

Thanks

Sera

Duration at 50 is a little high from what we would normally spec the HP Series for, but our 278 3000-3200 would work good with that cam considering you are mostly a street setup. What type of vehicle is this going in?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply!

It's going into my 2nd Gen Camaro - about 3300lbs

What's your normal lead time?

Typical lead time is around a week and a half for our custom billet stuff. Some of the more budget oriented converters we try and keep in stock or a few days out.
