Reverse is in a bind
I just recently rebuilt a 4l60e transmission has everything new in it. Has forward gears but when you put it in reverse it don't move. If u kill the motor and put it in neutral it will not move backwards but will foward. I need help does anybody have any ideas what it could be.

Drop the pan, Pull all the 8MM headed valve body bolts & The 3 10MM headed bolts that are a off color from the rest of the black 10mm bolts.
Retest pushing the car backwards.

The Transgo HD2 instructions show where the various bolt lengths go:

Basically, the shorter bolts are near the center of the trans and the longer ones are on the sides.

Did your trans end up having bolts in the wrong holes?
I believe I have the exact same problem on a rebuilt trans. Have not added any fluid or started the car yet, but I noticed the car will not roll backwards in neutral, it acts like its in Park. Rolls forward just fine with the shifter in any position except Park.
Waiting for the trans builder to get back to me.
Car is a '88 Firebird that I am in the process of swapping a 5.3/4L65E into.

Sure enough, checked my bolts according to that transgo chart, 1 out of the 9 bolts was too long. Soon as I removed the bolt, I spun the rear wheels backwards just fine.
Is it normal to have more resistance spinning the wheels backwards than spinning them forward?

In the forward direction the low-reverse clutch (a sprag) lets the output shaft
almost freewheel. However in reverse the sprag locks up and you are then turning many more parts in the trans, including the sunshell and IIRC the forward clutch which has a lot of residual friction.
Glad you got it figured out; hopefully no permanent damage was done.
