Default O1' TA A4 Transmission Please Help!!

Just can't seam to narrow down the problem with my Automatic transmission on my 2001 TA anyways the transmission is holding 1st gear to long and then when it's shifts to 2 it's kinda harsh...then if I'm crusing at high speeds 50-75 and I lay into the throttle its like it almost downshifts to 1st the rpms shot up to 6200 untill I let of the throttle for a second then it shifts back to 4th it's weird . Im I dealing with a pcm or sensor issue because the transmission shifts beautifully if I manually shift through the gears ??? I have some mods done to the car and recently rebuilt the rear end and beefed up the gears to 3.73s

It most likely is sensor related. Have your PCM scanned for codes. Engine codes can make the trans not shift properly.

Did you change the gear ratio in the pcm? You say you beefed them up to 3.73.

The pcm controls the trans using a variety of sensors. If any one of them is reading incorrectly it can cause irratic trans behavior. The first thing to do is properly diagnose it. This requires a scanner or something like hptuners to see whats taking place in real time. My suggestion? Find someone qualified to help diagnose this issue.
