That's the slip yoke used on GTO's (In the States anyway), It should slide right out.
Its either rusted in place, Or the splines are twisted (Yes, I have seen a twisted OE Spicer yolk before)
If your tearing the trans down, Remove the 6 tail housing bolts, Remove the output shaft snap ring, & slide the output shaft & tail housing out together.

It is important for the slip yoke to slide in and out a bit as the rear suspension moves up and down. Else the up/down suspension movement will put great strain on the motor and trans mounts.
While clinebarger's "Remove the output shaft snap ring" is correct, you have to remove the pump and input drum assembly, with the reverse drum, to get to the output shaft snap ring. And to get the reverse drum out, you may need to first remove the band, and to remove the band you probably have to remove the servo. In other words, disassemble much of the trans.
clinebarger can probably do all that in the dark while watching TV.

Okay, maybe I lied a little. The engine and trans have been transplanted into a different car and I need to remove this output spline to have a new driveshaft made. Ideally I'd like to avoid pulling the whole transmission apart, but I have the ability to do it myself so it's not a great loss. I was sort of hoping it was some kind of bolt in flange but sounds more like something inside is cactus

Understood. Good luck solving this problem. Keep in mind that one snap ring is all the keeps the output shaft in place; serious hammering on the yoke might break it.

Have you tried to lightly tap on the yoke?
Drill a 5/16" hole through the center of the Yolk, Guessing you have a 3-jawed puller, The puller will have a beveled adaptor of some sorts, Remove it, Replace with a Push Rod (cut to length if needed), Pull directly against the output shaft.
