Default early 4l80 bonded piston question. (jakes kit)

Im rebuilding my 94 4l80 with a jakes kit. Im at the forward drum and cant figure out the inner lip seal. My kit has the one in the photo but it doesnt seem to fit and some research shows its for 97+. Nothing else in my kit seems to fit, any ideas??

Leave the center seal out of the forward drum. It's not necessary.

Thank you Jake, that's what I figured but wanted to be sure.

I had another question on the clutch setup of the direct, I initially had it setup for 5 clutches per the atsg book but it looks like you guys do 6 and use the thinner .077 "forward" steels. Do you use the thicker .092? "direct" steels in the forward then?

Yes,
You use the steels to set clutch pack clearance as necessary.

Typically you have to use the .077 steels to get 6 in the direct. The thicker steels work in the forward to get proper clearance without a cushion plate.
