Default ID this converter please

I've built a 5.3(L33)- 4L60e combo into a UK Mazda RX8 and its running and driving fine. The gerabox makes a distinct 'clunk' as it changes into 3rd gear, so I'm thinking its on its way home. I have the 4L65E that came with the engine and I'm planning on swapping over the tailsahft and housing to 2WD. I also have the stock truck (Sierra 1500 Extended cab) converter which I guess has a low stall speed. I've been offered a converter from a late 1990's LS Camaro, so likely a better stall for a 1300Kg car. But will it work with my 2005 4L65E?

The only numbers I can find on the Camaro converter are 079A8, TMAX 2420, a big green dot with 8325 overwritten on it.

On the truck converter it has TMBX 2422, a big yellow dot with 7948 written on it.

Can anyone decode these for me? I'm in the UK so I can't nip out and buy a new one down the road ;-)

Unfortunately those converters are both going to be the same stall speed. The difference lies in the lockup clutch lining material used. The TMBX will have a woven material and the TMAX will have the carbon material. This has been my experience anyway from the converters I have cut.

Don't mind the stall, so long as it will fit. Which clutch material is best for a light car running 3.9:1 gears on the street?

The Camaro converter will fit physically. I personally would run whichever one has the fewest miles and would not worry much about the clutch lining type.

Thanks Brian, I'll go with the truck unit, it only had 22,000 on it.
