Fast 4l60s and rear gearing
You see times and what transmission build people used to go fast, but what you dont see is the rest of the setup. What rear gear do the 700-800 rwhp guys run? What stall speed? (And yes I understand weight and cam play into that question). What size rear tire? Ive got a 700rwhp 3600 lb car almost together i was gonba try to figure out some last min tweaks

there are charts online to be found where you compare your car's weight and HP and it will give you a very close approximation to quarter mile trap speed. Use that with your tire size and rpm you will be turning to get a rear gear number. You might have to go up or down a little after you get it to the track, but it will definitely put you in the ballpark.

Yes it will be a 200-250 shot on a well built 383. Im thinking a 3.42 or 3.23 would be a good start but I wanted to see what others have used. I know traction will play a huge factor with the low gear ratios on the 4l60e
