Is a 4l60E good for what I need?
Hey Guys,
I am restoring a 1950 fleetline and have purchased a ls1 out of a 2002 firebird. The motor has 65k original miles and is in great shape. I plan to do intake, cam, injectors and headers. I don't want a monster of a car just a solid reliable fun car. Will a 4l60E keep me happy and be somewhat issue free? Alot of folks have told me to upgrade to the 4l80e but that will require trans tunnel mods and I really don't want to cut up my floors if I don't need it.
Also any tips/tricks or insight on the combo I would love any and all feedback.
Thanks

4L60e will do just fine, You can go well over 500rwhp with a well built 4L60e. I have a Ls1 on nitrous and a ton on low 10 sec passes on the 60e and a handful of 9 sec time slips, as do many other people.
