Default Should we not share our negative vendor experiences here?

I posted about a negative interaction with a transmission vendor this morning and it seems my thread was trashed. Why?

Thanks for your time.

There is a specific section for vendor feedback; LS1tech Vendor Feedback.

The moderators only let you talk bad about certain vendors. For example TCI, Maddog, PATC, B&M, ect... If it is someone they praise, forget about it!

Jake isnt a sponsor. It doesnt belong in a tech section, it doesnt belong in sponsor feedback. Unfourtunately youre fucked. However there is a solution, try yellowbullet, first section on the forum. You make the thread, I will meet you over there and it will not be deleted. Lets see if jake has the gumption to answer for his attitude problem in a place with no protection......

I would suggest you call me if there is a problem.
Based off the screen name, I have no idea who you are of the scores of customers I deal with on a daily basis.

Secondly,
If you have a legitimate complaint, even if I disagree, cool post it.
For those that have never had been does business wanting to jump in the thread... Perfect display of the reason guys like me don't answer tech questions online anymore.

While I was not the moderator who deleted the thread, I suspect an admin deleted it because the title was offensive and confrontational.

If a member here has a complaint about a sponsor or non-sponsor, I suggest keeping the title informational and sticking to the facts and your reasonable opinions.

In this case, I thought your post was OK, but the title was not, and that title encouraged some very vulgar and non-informational comments.

Compared to many other forums, I think we will all agree that ls1tech is exceptionally informational, useful and friendly. However, it just takes a little restraint on everyone's part to keep it that way.
Again, I didn't delete it and would have dealt with it a bit differently - probably changed the title and deleted the vulgar posts, while keeping the others.

It's crazy he admits he doesnt even know you are. Meaning the way he acted does NOT stand out in his mind to any significance. He probably treats people like this daily and has no clue which one of those many people YOU in particular are. Jake is clearly not a people person.

But to prove we can all see something positive here. I think in my mind jake is good at what he does with transmissions. When he works he is probably giving it 100% and fully focused, which is why he doesnt like what he deems are "interuptions". So yeah, I get it. Second, a thread like this is bound to go chaotic so I understand the need to lock it down. Mrvedit runs a good section and is a pretty bright guy.

See we can play nice

For the record, I removed the thread in question.

This is exactly correct. The tech sections are not provided for purposes of customer service related, feedback-focused threads - especially ones that are so negative and inflammatory and that contain zero tech value. As stated above, we have a specific feedback section for transactions with site sponsors, where factual and mature first-party accounts are always welcome.

For non-sponsors, as in this case, an off-topic forum (such as a specific regional area or the Lounge) would be acceptable, though we still expect a certain basic level of civility in any such threads that are posted - otherwise you can expect to see them removed/locked.

Thanks,
-Admin.
