Default 4L60E Controller Question

Does anyone know if the PCM will always control the pressure control solenoid regardless of any transmission errors it detects?

What I want to do is a basic paddle shift setup. I want to use a micro to control the 1-2, 2-3, and 3-2 solenoids based on paddle inputs but still be able to run the trans with the PCM if you put it in normal drive mode. The plan would be to use selector relays on the solenoid inputs on the trans so that the PCM could control them in one mode or the micro could control them in manual mode. The micro would output signals to them with transistors so the relays would only be for controller isolation.

But I would like to just leave the pressure control solenoid hooked up to the PCM so it will be adjusted based on TPS.

So will the pressure solenoid stop adjusting as expected if the PCM detects that there is a problem with the shift solenoids? (controlled by the micro)
