Default 4L80E puking fluid from the vent tube.

Ok I have a 2000 Silverado 2500 with the 4L80e (duh lol) and I'm having a wee bit o' a problem. Once I've driven for a few miles and it's at operating temp for a few minutes, when I stop I notice that fluid is leaking at an alarming rate from the rear vent tube. This is the tube coming from the top of the case, right behind the bellhousing. I'm probably going to rig some kind of catch can up until I have the moolah to pull it out and fix 'er up right, but I'm kinda lost as to what exactly is causing the problem. Any ideas?

Did you do anything recently to it? Mine did that when it was over filled.

most common cause of puking fluid threw vent tube are bad converter or clogged radiator..overfilling it by a lot can cause that issue aswell

I know it's not because of overfilling. I checked it when I saw it spitting fluid and it was almost 2 quarts low. Will a bad pump seal cause this? I guess I can check the lines and cooler for clogs.

Usually it's overheating..Is your converter locking up?

No it's running plenty cool. I have a manual lockup switch, and I keep it locked if I'm in 3rd or higher and at speeds over 45.
