Default Trans Cooler BTU

I have a 2000 WS6, and am about to install cam, headers, stall convertor etc...I was told I should get at least a 20,000 btu rated trans cooler from the builder..Does this sound about right, or is it overkill? Will just be running a 2800 stall...almost a daily driver, so rather be safe than sorry

I think most of the 4th Gen coolers that members are installing has a 20,000+ BTU rating. It is not overkill.

After talking with Summit Racing, Im ordering either the B&M 70266 rated at 20,500 or B&M 70274 rated at 29,000...Will have to see how much room I have to mount it..

The 70274 is a really well working cooler. I'm not sure what kind of room you're working with, but in my setup is was the perfect size to mount right to my intercooler bracket. Best of luck!

I'm gonna run a 70266 with a fan mounted on it to cool a '60e with a 3800 stall. I looked at the 70274 but it was a little larger than what I thought I could get to comfortably fit. I plan on angle mounting it in the driver side fender well where the smog pump used to live.

If I didn't have a SSRA in front of the radiator I would have definitely gotten the larger cooler for piece of mind.
