Default Reinstalling trans

Installing the trans back in my 01 ss after installing tc and having a hell of a time getting the dipstick tube back in. Wondering if I cut a little off the end that goes into the trans if that will throw off my dipstick readings.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

It should not affect your readings if it goes down until it hits the bump stop. But something is stopping it from reaching correctly and I would consider making more effort into finding what is stopping it from hitting the mark.

Is the dip stick tube loose where it bolts up top?

Loosen that top bolt a bit to give ya more movement with the dip stick tube. Then I usually put the transmission on a floor jack and aim the dipstick as I'm jacking the transmission up and it will bend right on in there

I usually leave that bolt in but loose, then aim and jack the transmission up and it will slide right in
